Rockband Trailer

The Rockband videogame trailer. It is pretty well done, with all the CGI, sound coordination and everything. The author is Pete Candeland, from the French company Passion-Paris. They did the Sony Bravia advertisment with the multicolor clay rabits. Wanna have a look at it?

Stuck in my mind

I don't know why, but this song is stuck into my head since some time now, so I thought, might as well post it here :P The track is "Mind War" from the 2003 album Roorback, by Sepultura.

Gibson Robot Guitar

Gibson has launched the 6th of December 2007 a self tuning guitar. Can you believe it?! :o Its name is the Robot Guitar, a blue silverburst Les Paul limited edition guitar, and the player doesn't need to know guitar tuning. Just by pressing the string it will tune up to the standard A440. Also, there are six presets that are really accesible and easy to use (just need to press a button :D). Basically, the information of each string is captured by the Data Transmitting Tailpeace and the Tune Control Bridge (a modified Tune-o-Matic) and sent to the Neck CPU, and from there, to the Powerhead Locking Tuner, which holds a small servo motor that automatically will rotate the tuning peg to the desired tuning. Wicked!

Divine Heresy

An American death melodic metal band officially formed in 2006 by former guitarist from Fear Factory, Dino Cazares. Actual members of Divine Heresy are guitarist Cazares, former Vital Remains drummer Tim Yeung (very contundent and precise, reminds to a similar style of Raymond Herrera), vocalist Tommy Vext, and former Nile bassist Joe Payne. Dino uses Ibanez 8-string guitars!!

Their debut album is "Bleed the Fifth", released in August 28th 2007, and production duties performed by ex-Machine Head Logan Mader. "After recording was completed, Cazares announced the band signed a North American deal with Century Media Records, and a licensing deal with Roadrunner Records in Europe.", according to Wikipedia. Dino Cazares had some issues during his Fear Factory years with the Roadrunner label.

I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but its the same death hardcore metal with a fresh and contemporary touch, and some of the melodic riffs merge very well with the tough bits. Vocals are very good, aggressive and passionate. Vext has written all the lyrics and much of the lyrical content was influenced by the Book of Revelation, natural disasters, war, and terrorism.

I am not a big fan of this genre of metal, though I know the big players in this scene, and it also reminds me the good 'ol days :P.
