Chart 2, Level C

Last night I decided to go up one level. Is no big deal, just I have to keep in mind to be accurate, and don't let it go. Speed will come later. I hope I finish this chart much quicker than the first one.

My brother is going back home today for one week. I will tell him to bring lots of food again! I'm gonna be busy this week, so there is no time to procrastinate. I have to hand in the final year project report, the AI for games coursework, and web engineering coursework too. Later!

Disturbed - Land of Confusion video

Disturbed became really famous and got into the mainstream media by the end of the '90s with their awesome album "The Sickness", and their first single "Stupify". Their following releases are "Believe", in 2002, and "Ten Thousand Fists", in 2005; I haven't paid close attention to them.

The other day my brother told me about this video, from a song of their last album, which is called "Land of Confusion". Although Disturbed broke through into the nu metal hype, this song resembles some songs from the metal scene of the '80s. The chorus, the rhythm of the verses, even a little guitar solo at the end, it has all of that. Some say their style should be labelled as hard rock, but who cares anyway.

The thing is, this video is made by Todd McFarlane, the creator of cult comic anti-hero Spawn. He has done a very good job with Korn's video "Freak On A Leash". The main character of the video, the one who leads the revolution, shares some features with Spawn, like the dark face, with only the eyes and mouth visible, and well, the build up muscles, hehe. Here, is the video of Disturbed for you to check:

Chart 2, Level C-

One more step up the chart! Trying to keep it up. Just need to concentrate more in my studies and stop playing PES.

I found some time ago this video of former Megadeth's lead guitar, Chris Poland, where he is testing a THD amp with a Les Paul. I wanna shred like him, damn!!

Guano Apes

I had their album "Walking on Thin Line", which has couple of awesome songs, such as "You Can't Stop Me", "Dick", "Pretty in Scarlet" and "Sing That Song", and is a very versatile album, using different music styles in their vocals and instruments. I like them very much and some time ago I heard this song, "Open Your Eyes", and found out this was their first single, back in 1997, from their debut album "Proud Like A God". They disbanded after a release of greatest hits in 2005.

Guano Apes was a German band which came up in the alternative metal scene. Their principal trademark was their lead singer Sandra Nasic, who can deliver different vocal styles at the right place, the right time.

You can check out some of their videos here, but I'm gonna put the "Open Your Eyes (live)" video here, along with the lyrics. Enjoy!

OPEN YOUR EYES

Hide your face forever
dream and search forever

Have you ever been for sale ?
when your isms get smart
oh so selfish and mindless
with that comment in your eye

Do you think that you are hard ?
really harder than the other
man you're acting cold
if you are not in charge

Don't split your mentality
without thinking twice
your voice has got no reason
now is the time to face your lies

Open your eyes, open your mind
proud like a god don't pretend to be blind
trapped in yourself, break out instead
beat the machine that works in your head

Will you offer me some tricks
if I ever need them
would you go into that room
if I call 'em

Do you think that you are better
really better than the rest
realize there's a problem
I know that you can give your best

Have you ever had a dream?
or is life just a trip?
a trip without chances
a chance to grow up quick

Open your eyes, open your mind ...

Hide your face forever
dream and search forever
night and night you feel nothing
there's no way outside of my land

Open your eyes, open your mind ...

Chart 2, Level D+

I was practicing back home the excercises, but forgot to update in the blog. Didn't practice daily, though, so I thought to update when I get back to Bradford and at the same time increase one step in the chart.

I brought back a lot food from home and I am finding it hard to get back to work, since I didnĀ“t do any the two weeks I stayed there. Hopefully, I will catch up in these days, I have to!

Later!
