Rodrigo y Gabriela

Thanks to an article in Total Guitar, I discovered Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, better known as Rodrigo y Gabriela, two Mexicans based in Dublin, that use their almost perfect technique and unique style with the acoustic guitar to play their music. Their influences have a very wide range, from classical to latin-hispanic to metal. Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" and Metallica's "Orion" covers are musts to listen. Other tracks are "Tamacun", "Satori" and "Ixtapa". Listen to some of these tracks at their MySpace. Definitely recommended for the guitar enthusiast and for the ones who search for sometihng different from what is out there.

One step up in the chart, that means I am making progress, specially since I started this blog.

I have also spent some time learning some Megadeth songs, i.e. "Angry Again", "Trust", "Breakpoint" and "In My Darkest Hour". They are pretty good and if you are bothered you can change the tuning of your guitar to match the original songs, because it tells you the exact notes to tune as well.

Can't wait for Megadeth´s new album to come out, "United Abominations".
