United Abominations

Hi there! It has been a little while since my last post, hasn't it? Well, many things have happened since then, i.e. Sri's visit to Gran Canaria, my brother's wedding, starting my job in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, etc. I still need to bring my guitar with me, so I could keep on practicing, damn!!

Well, enough said, I have had a good listen to Megadeth's latest album, (11th studio album, first one released with Roadrunner Records), "United Abominations". A reminisence to the old days, but better sound quality, it is without any doubt one of this band's trademark (the fans will be very pleased), and according to Wikipedia, "arguably their most politically-charged album to date". Here is the tracklist:

1. "Sleepwalker" – 5:53
2. "Washington Is Next!" – 5:19
3. "Never Walk Alone...A Call to Arms" – 3:54
4. "United Abominations" – 5:35
5. "Gears of War" – 4:26
6. "Blessed Are the Dead" – 4:02
7. "Play for Blood" – 3:49
8. "À tout le monde (Set Me Free)" – 4:11 (featuring Cristina Scabbia)
9. "Amerikhastan" – 3:43
10. "You're Dead" – 3:18
11. "Burnt Ice" – 3:47
12. "Out on the Tiles" – 4:03 (Led Zeppelin cover, "bonus" track for Japan only)

My favourite ones are "Sleepwalker", "United Abominations", "Play for Blood" and "Amerikhastan". Excelent guitars and lyrics, as always! This time, Mr. Mustaine has joined forces with Glen Drover (lead guitar), James Lomenzo (bass guitar) and Shawn Drover (drums), with guest musicians Cristina Scabbia and Axel Mackenrott on keyboards. Definitely Megadeth still kick ass and they are here to stay!! Let's see what Metallica can come up with, :P
