This 28-year-old songwriter from Argentinean origin has been being played for quite some days next door. Yeah, my brother found his music somehow and he kept on playing it again and again. I think he become popular after using one of his songs, "Heartbeats", for the Sony Bravia advert.
His name is Jose Gonzalez, and his influences are various, from eclectic to bossa nova and flamenco. His picking pattern and his alternate guitar tuning gives it that hypnotizing and appealing touch. It is recommended for a relaxing and calm mood. From his album "Veneer", which is entirely acoustic, the songs that appeal to me are the previously mentioned "Heartbeats", plus "Deadweight on Velveteen", "Crosses" and "Lovestain".
Definitely an alternative for the distortion maniacs, and maybe for acoustic and MTV Unplugged material.
